About

“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” — Buddah

Here’s a bit about Heather Lindemann…

Yoga and light are intrinsically linked. I believe that with practice, patience, breath and willingness, yoga can bring light into any body, into any life. From that light burns a deeper connection to all living beings – love.

I began my journey with yoga in 2001 when I suffered a knee injury and needed a safe, gentle practice for rebuilding strength and flexibility. After practicing for a few months I began to realize the essence and joy of yoga. Not only did my body feel better but I was calmer and more reflective.

At the time I was practicing with Erica Kaufman, founder of the Lila Yoga Institute (www.lilayogainstitute.com), a brilliant, amazing teacher. In 2005 Erica announced she would be moving out of state and would offer one last Lila Yoga teacher training in Colorado. I jumped on the opportunity to deepen my own practice with a subtle voice inside of me saying “go teach!”

I completed a 200-hour Lila Yoga teacher training and began teaching a Fundamentals Workshop series. In 2008 I found Pearl Street Yoga, my current home, and fell in love with the community there.

I have studied and practiced with Jivamukti Yoga founders Sharon Gannon and David Life, Sean Corn and Shannon Paige Schneider along with a tribe of other brilliant teachers. Yoga is my passion and I truly believe that it can benefit anyone who is open and willing to practice and dive deep. My mission is to bring yoga to people of all shapes, sizes and abilities.  I currently am teaching Fundamentals Yoga, a class designed for those new to yoga or those looking to deepen their existing practice.

A bit about Lila Yoga…

Lîla Yoga balances discipline and curiosity while inspiring strength and creativity. Using the body as a tool to understand the mind, Lîla Yoga is a philosophy practiced through movement; a meditation in motion.  Lîla Yoga focuses on connecting to roots and committing to internal energy pathways.  Vinyasas and individual asanas are realized by clarifying the direction and intensity of these pathways.

Using vibration as a sensitizing tool, Lîla Yoga is practiced with music (live when possible), singing bowls/ bells and communal call and response. Lîla is a Vedic term meaning ‘Cosmic Play’, an attitude that regards the manifest universe as arising from joyous love-play and creative adventures.
